For the first time in the last ten months, the commercial pig herd in Ukraine recovered significantly. This was reported by analysts of the Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders referencing the State Statistics Service of Ukraine data.

Today the concept of «antimicrobial resistance» is increasingly common. The meaning and the danger of it was discussed by The Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders.

The Project objectives, in particular, will be implemented by surveying more than 600 respondents — business entities from different areas of animal husbandry (pig production, poultry — broiler and layer farms, beekeeping, livestock) and representatives of backyard farms, veterinary medicine and feed production. The research will include enterprises throughout Ukraine.

Currently, there is very limited information available in Ukraine on the use of antimicrobials in animal husbandry. In addition, the country does not have an efficient system for monitoring and controlling the use of antibiotics.
