There are many versions of the causes of ear necrosis in pigs, but they are mostly just guesswork. In fact, a number of risk factors can cause the emergence of the disease. After a four-week decline at the turn of the autumn months, prices on the domestic pork market have recovered. The Project objectives, in particular, will be implemented by surveying more than 600 respondents — business entities from different areas of animal husbandry (pig production, poultry — broiler and layer farms, beekeeping, livestock) and representatives of backyard farms, veterinary medicine and feed production. The research will include enterprises throughout Ukraine.

Currently, there is very limited information available in Ukraine on the use of antimicrobials in animal husbandry. In addition, the country does not have an efficient system for monitoring and controlling the use of antibiotics.
