Domestic food security in Ukraine is fully ensured and food shortages are not expected. We will have enough sunflower oil, sugar and eggs, and there is no reason for a significant increase in the price of those products. On the contrary, in November Ukrainians will see stabilization of food prices. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Markiyan Dmytrasevych.

As for sunflower oil, farmers harvested 2.6 million tons of sunflower seeds, and the forecast collection for this year - 9.5 million tons. "This is down from the previous year, which was a record year and yielded 16.3 million tons of sunflowers. The reasons for this decrease are clear - the war and weather conditions that slowed the harvest. But for domestic needs this is more than enough. So, if we do not talk about the overall inflation and higher logistics costs, there should not be any rise in oil prices," assured Markiyan Dmitrasevich.

Also, he said, the price of sugar should remain stable. Agrarians sowed 180 thousand hectares of sugar beet, which is less than last year - 224 thousand hectares. There should be produced 1 million tons of sugar from the sugar beet harvested this year. "There will be no shortage of sugar, as well as its significant rise in price," said the deputy minister.

Also, according to Markiyan Dmitrasevich, the prices of eggs will soon become equalized.

The problem with their rise in price is connected, first, with the destruction of poultry farms (in particular, in Chernobaivka and Donetsk and Luhansk regions), and secondly, with a shortage of laying hens and reduced production of eggs.

"We definitely will not have a shortage of food. We are an agricultural country and a net exporter of agricultural products, so our domestic needs we are sure to satisfy completely. The processes of pricing of products is primarily influenced by general inflation, the cost of energy and logistics", summed up the deputy minister.
