russia's First Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN, Dmitry Polyansky, said that in response to the UN investigation into russia's use of Iranian drones, Moscow may «revise cooperation» with the UN, including not extending the «grain agreement».

The statement was made following a closed UN Security Council meeting during which accusations of Iranian drone deliveries to russia were made. Polyansky said russia is not yet «convinced» of the need to extend the grain agreement and noted that the main issue remains «the export of russian fertilizers and food.»

According to Polyansky, Moscow hopes that the UN secretariat and secretary general will refrain from participating in any investigations into Iranian drones, which the russian diplomat called «illegal,» a violation of a UN Security Council decision, and outside the UN technical mandate. Otherwise, russia will reconsider its cooperation with the UN. «We don't want that, but there will be no other choice,» Polyansky said of the seriousness of the threat.

The day before, the UN Security Council held a meeting on Russia's use of drones in Ukraine at the request of the United States, France and Britain, which claimed that the drones used by Moscow in its war with Ukraine were made in Iran and transferred to russia in violation of «nuclear» resolution 201 .

The UN spokesman Stephane Dujarric said separately that the UN, according to its policy, is always ready to examine any information and analyze any data provided by member states.
