The Project objectives, in particular, will be implemented by surveying more than 600 respondents — business entities from different areas of animal husbandry (pig production, poultry — broiler and layer farms, beekeeping, livestock) and representatives of backyard farms, veterinary medicine and feed production. The research will include enterprises throughout Ukraine.

Currently, there is very limited information available in Ukraine on the use of antimicrobials in animal husbandry. In addition, the country does not have an efficient system for monitoring and controlling the use of antibiotics.

During the second to last week of spring prices for slaughter pigs in Ukraine increased by 3.7%. Thus, according to the results of weekly monitoring of purchase prices for live pigs, conducted by the analytical department of the Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders, the average market price exceeded 44 UAH/kg.
