Now one of the indicators for determination of the rent base for extracted gas is an average price of gas, which was formed by the results of trading on the licensed exchanges in Ukraine. Thus, the rent base for natural gas will be maximally equated to the cost of gas in Ukraine as previously the rent base was tied to the cost of gas in Europe which was higher than the actual cost of gas in Ukraine.
In Ukraine natural gas can be traded on three exchanges that comply with the licenses of the regulator (the Ukrainian Interbank Currency Exchange, the Ukrainian Universal Exchange, and the Ukrainian Energy Exchange).
