After a four-week decline at the turn of the autumn months, prices on the domestic pork market have recovered. The average purchase price for live pigs increased by 2%, compared to last week and reached 45.7 UAH/kg. The increase in price for slaughter pigs by 1 UAH/kg, compared to 39-th week, was reported by analysts of the Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders.

Today the concept of «antimicrobial resistance» is increasingly common. The meaning and the danger of it was discussed by The Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders.

The Project objectives, in particular, will be implemented by surveying more than 600 respondents — business entities from different areas of animal husbandry (pig production, poultry — broiler and layer farms, beekeeping, livestock) and representatives of backyard farms, veterinary medicine and feed production. The research will include enterprises throughout Ukraine.

Currently, there is very limited information available in Ukraine on the use of antimicrobials in animal husbandry. In addition, the country does not have an efficient system for monitoring and controlling the use of antibiotics.
