Government increases humanitarian grain for Africa and Asia

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on December 23, 2022 adopted a resolution, according to which it increased by 21 thousand tons the volume of humanitarian aid in the form of grain, which Ukraine provides to the countries of Africa and Asia. This was reported by the permanent representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk in a telegram.

«In particular, the terms of delivery of humanitarian aid goods were changed from CIF (when the seller is obliged to buy marine insurance for the goods — auth.) to FOB (when the seller is not obliged to buy marine insurance — auth.) and the volume of purchase of wheat grain and/or corn grain was increased by 21 thousand tons,» he wrote.

Melnychuk added that the government made the appropriate changes to the resolution No. 1313 «On providing humanitarian aid to the states of Africa and Asia» to regulate the issue of purchasing, delivery and payment for transportation of wheat and/or corn grain to the Republic of Sudan, Republic of Yemen, Republic of Kenya and Federal Republic of Nigeria.

On the 24th of November the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted its resolution No.1313, by which it instructed the Ministry of the Interior and the State Service for Emergencies to deliver up to 125 thousand tons of wheat and/or corn to the states of Africa and Asia as humanitarian aid.
