The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) intends to help farms in «gray» zones to destroy explosive objects. This was stated by the head of the office of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN in Ukraine Pierre Vauthier during a round table in Ukrinform.

«Now we plan to develop a program and deal specifically with one problem, namely the problem of demining. It concerns not only mines, but in general the remaining shells that can harm livestock in pastures. It's a problem for farmers and agriculture,» he said.

He noted that FAO will also work to address the issue of climate change and entrepreneurship — the ability of Ukrainian farmers to adapt and innovate. «It is very important for us that young people stay in the agricultural sector, that they are interested in this area and they develop in it and gain experience, improving the sector by their own efforts,» the speaker summarized.
