The third decade of September began with a weakening of purchase prices for slaughter pigs. According to the results of the weekly monitoring of live weight pork prices, conducted by the analysts of the Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders, the average market price "sank" by 1.9%, closing at 44.65 UAH/kg.

In the second half of September, a gradual shift in the prices of slaughter condition pigs continued. During the second to last week of spring prices for slaughter pigs in Ukraine increased by 3.7%. Thus, according to the results of weekly monitoring of purchase prices for live pigs, conducted by the analytical department of the Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders, the average market price exceeded 44 UAH/kg.

Capacity building for commercial pig production in Ukraine is directly related to the improvement of the nucleus of the pig farm.

In the first half of March, the average purchase price of live weight pork was at UAH 44.8/kg. However, there was an upward movement of quotation in the middle of the month. During the second week of October, the slaughter pig prices maintained the achieved previously level. According to the results of pig prices monitoring made by the analytical department of the AUPB, the range of this week remained at the 46−49 UAH/kg level and the market average shifted up by 1.4% to 48.13 UAH/kg.

October began for pork producers quite nicely: the purchase prices for live pigs suddenly increased. According to the results of pig prices monitoring made by the analytical department of the AUPB, the average purchase price this week increased by more than 4% and reached 47.46 UAH/kg.

During the last week of the summer, the live pig market prices in Ukraine continued to rise, but at a slower rate than on the eve of the holiday weekend.
