In the equal pressure system, fresh air is supplied through inlet valves in the roof and exhaust through exhaust shafts — both with active fans that create neutral pressure.
It is advantageous to install an equal pressure system in monoblock buildings or if livestock buildings are located close to each other. The same applies if the barns are located in areas with strong winds.
In cold areas, the recirculating aspects of roof inlets also help save on heating costs. Pigs are sensitive to cold air currents. When you design these supply air inlets, you have the option of using recirculation fans. Recirculation fans mix indoor air with incoming fresh air. In this way, the air is pretreated before it gets to the pigs.
The air intake and exhaust units are regulated according to the Dynamic MultiStep principle, which significantly reduces energy consumption.
Advantages:
- precise control of ventilation capacity and therefore the microclimate
- suitable for monobloc buildings where wall inlets cannot be used
- suitable for airtight rooms, e.g. old leaky rooms
- prevents cold air from the top downwards from flowing directly into the pigs
- a reliable system in winter, when recirculation helps to save heating costs
