USAID Gives UAH 185 Million to Develop Elevator Facilities in Ukraine

The USAID AGRO program is accepting till March 21, 2012, applications for the second phase of 10 sub-grants, worth UAH 18.5 million each, to small and medium-sized enterprises to expand elevator facilities in order to preserve grain and boost Ukraine's export potential. This was reported by the press service of the Program.

«The sub-grant program is aimed at expanding MSMEs' access to grain processing, drying and storage services at elevators in order to increase the volume and storage time of grain and industrial crops, strengthen business sustainability and improve food security in Ukraine,» the report stated.

It is assumed that the sub-grant funds will be used for:

— purchase of equipment for processing, drying and storage of grain;

— purchase of laboratory equipment for determination of quality indicators of grain.

The term of sub-grants under the sub-grant agreement will not exceed 2 years. Approximate date of commencement of activities under the sub-grant — March 21, 2023.
