"The Cabinet abolished critical imports on goods. But for imports of services the restrictions continue to operate in a partial scope," he wrote in a telegram on Thursday.
As noted by the government representative in the Verkhovna Rada Taras Melnychuk after the meeting of the Cabinet, the government changed the name of the definition № 153 of February 24, 2022 from "The list of critical import goods" to "On certain issues to ensure the implementation of imports."
"Instead, the list of services, works, intellectual property rights, other non-property rights intended for sale (remunerated transfer), on import transactions of which the National Bank was recommended to ensure the implementation of transfers was approved. The criteria for determining critical imports of goods under martial law are invalidated," said Melnychuk in a telegram.
As reported, the NBU has restricted foreign currency payments abroad since the beginning of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine. At the same time, the central bank allowed payments only on the list of critical imports approved by the Cabinet. This list has since been expanded 18 times, and today makes up about 90% of all product categories, the ministry noted.
