Ukraine, as a candidate for accession to the European Union, is implementing a national food quality and safety control system equivalent to the EU system, based on the important principle of ensuring control from farm to table.

One of the important steps is to comply with the requirements of Regulation (EC) No. 178/2002 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 28 January 2002, namely, in order to properly and effectively monitor any risks related to health protection and food safety, the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection receives notifications transmitted through the rapid notification system and takes all necessary measures aimed at identifying unfit food products.

The European Rapid Alert System for Food and Feed (RASFF) is a system for the rapid exchange of information on the presence of a risk to human health associated with food and feed.
