The project includes a number of initiatives, including monitoring of pathogens causing diseases in pigs, laboratory control of feed quality and toxicity, and research on antibiotic resistance of intestinal pathogens. These measures help to maintain animal health and increase the efficiency of Ukrainian pig farms.
“In the current war, it is extremely important to maintain the stability and resilience of the pig industry, which is critical to Ukraine's economy. Our project provides farmers with the necessary support and resources to improve safety and quality standards in pig production,” the AUPB commented.
The results of the project are already visible in practice. This project contributes not only to the health of pigs but also to the sustainable development of Ukraine's agricultural sector in times of war, helping farmers overcome challenges related to epidemiological threats and economic difficulties.
