Even with the increase of exports by alternative routes, the difference between the world and domestic prices is huge, because the lion's share, about 50 percent, is taken by logistics.
Therefore, because of low prices, the need to repay loans and uncertainty of what will be in the fall, farmers are already thinking about what to grow and what crops they may have to give up.
The Deputy Minister of the Agrarian Policy and Foodstuffs of Ukraine Markiyan Dmytrosevych suggested that the sowing season of 2023 can take place on only 60% of the planned areas. «And it is all because of the lack of financial resources. If the ports are not unblocked and farmers do not sell grain — then next year they will have nothing to sow for,» — said the deputy minister.
