"Members of Parliament call on the EU and member states to develop a legal system within the European Union that will punish the Russian regime," the party said in a statement.
The decision was congratulated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"russia must be isolated at all levels and held accountable in order to end its long-standing policy of terrorism in Ukraine and the world," he said.
Earlier, the parliaments of the Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia recognised russia as a sponsor of terrorism. In the USA, the Senate has submitted such a proposal to the White House. A resolution on the recognition of russia's regime as terrorist has been adopted by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
