In early November, the Association Ukranian Pig Breeders ionducted a regular monitoring of the mood and expectations of domestic pork producers. The sample included 111 enterprises from different regions of the country, whose breeding stock at the beginning of the year was about 200 thousand head (about 90% of industrial sows) or 2.5 million pigs (≈70% of total industrial stock).
"The survey showed that about 78% of respondents (1.5 million head) support the stable operation of enterprises. Including - 5 enterprises (≈10% of the industrial pig population at the beginning of the year), which are under occupation or in the territories close to the war zone. The remaining operators gradually implement plans for further development: - 6% of respondents (total number of about 330 thousand heads) increase pork production by fattening to the planned capacity; - 6% of surveyed enterprises (more than 160 thousand heads) are planning to replace or increase the number of pig breeders. 4% of the farms (about 330 thousand heads) are now reconstructing new production facilities, - 3 companies have plans to restart production, " stated in the analytical department of the Association Ukranian Pig Breeders.
The Association Ukranian Pig Breeders is a non-profit, voluntary organization founded by domestic pork producers. The main objectives of the association are representation and protection of rights and interests of the association farms, assistance in the development and introduction of new technologies for the efficient production of pork, the expansion of markets, and protection of domestic markets.
