Prices on the livestock market continued to fall in the third decade of October, according to the Association Ukranian Pig Breeders.

The auction last Friday again adjusted prices for the purchase of pigs slaughter conditions downward by 1,5-4 UAH / kg against the previous week. Particularly this week the prices for pigs in the Centre were mainly 70-72 UAH/kg, in the West they were 68-70 UAH/kg. The largest price range was in the eastern regions - from 68 to 72 UAH/kg. The weighted average market mark has shifted by 3.9% against the previous week and amounted to 69.42 UAH/kg.

The reason for significant divergence of prices in the eastern regions is the limited supply of pigs of slaughter conditions, which maintains the prices at an increased level, while the lower threshold of prices reflects the change in consumer activity due to the increased migration of the population with increased military aggression. In addition, as in other areas, frequent air raids and rolling blackouts create significant difficulties for pork sales. According to testimonies of meat processors, retail sales of chilled meat on weekly orders are reoriented to 2-3 day purchase volumes, and forced "pauses" in work significantly complicate formation and observance of delivery schedules.
