During the penultimate week of the year the prices for live pigg of slaughter conditions increased by 2-4 UAH / kg against the previous week, state pork producers. Most marketable batches were bought at UAH 68-70 / kg this week, but sometimes there were lower prices, particularly in the East and West. The average weighted price of purchase has stopped at the level of 68.6 UAH/kg, which is 3.9% higher than the previous week.
Processors' estimations of pre-holiday trade activity are mixed: some point out that the sales are relatively even and there is no demand revival, while others note cautious activity and expect that in the last week of the year the retail trade revival will be more tangible. Despite the inconsistent sentiment of processors, pork producers note that although they have not yet observed a pre-holiday rush, sales of pre-ordered shipments over the past couple of weeks have been proceeding smoothly and without postponement, with occasional requests for additional product shipments.
