Purchasing prices for pork at the end of the first decade of March continued to grow, analysts of the Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders.

Trades in the 10th week ended with revision of prices for pigs of slaughter conditions by 3 UAH / kg upward. Thus, the majority of commercial batches this week were sold in the range of 69-71 UAH/kg, though it was seen sometimes at higher prices. Therefore, the weighted average price rose by 4.3% against the previous week's level of 70.5 UAH/kg.

According to pork producers, the purchasing activity on trading days remains at a high level. The occasional requests for additional batches during the week confirm the insufficiency of pork in the domestic market, because in previous years imports served as an additional source of raw meat, which allowed meat processors to reduce the cost of forming stocks. Meat processors note that the final sale, although sometimes reacted to the start of pre-Easter fasting and adjustment of retail prices, but mostly is relatively stable and consistent with seasonal trends.
