International pig meat prices rose slightly in November

International pig meat prices rose on a surge in demand ahead of the upcoming holiday period and the impact of currency movements.

The FAO Meat Price Index averaged 117.1 points in November, down 1.1 points (0.9%) from October, also marking the fifth consecutive monthly decline, but remained 4.6 points (4.1%) above its value a year ago.

In November pig meat prices rose 0.2% month on month on a surge in demand ahead of the upcoming holiday period and the impact of currency movements.
