Investigation of African swine fever (ASF) in Indonesia started in response to Singapore's finding of ASF viral DNA in pigs imported from Indonesia. Laboratory testing on April 28, 2023 confirmed that ASF was present on a pig farm in the Riau Islands with 285,034 susceptible animals. The source of the infection is still unknown.
