According to him, the decrease in tractor imports for 7 months of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021 amounted to 53.5% in terms of quantity and 33.9% in terms of value. At the same time, the decrease in tractor imports in January-July 2023 compared to the same period in 2022 amounted to only 3.5% in terms of quantity and 16.9% in terms of value. It was driven by the growing demand for low-power tractors, which are mainly used in small farms and households.
In 2023, there is a tendency to increase the import of low-power tractors, especially in the category of up to 18 kW, which are used mainly by households, the scientist noted. In January-July 2023, 3194 units of new and 831 units of used tractors were imported to Ukraine (20.6% of the total number of imported machines), while in the same period in 2022, only 3076 and 315 (9.3%) units of tractors were imported, respectively. In 2021, only 468 used tractors of this category were imported in 7 months.
Imports of tractors in the category of high engine power decreased both in quantity and value, in particular: tractors with engine power of 75-130 kW decreased to 891 units (-32.55%) and to USD 38.4 million (23.2%). The sales of tractors with engine power over 130 kW decreased to 707 units (-12.5%) and to USD 104.0 mln. USD (-4.5%).
In January-July 2023, compared to the same period in 2022, there was a further decrease in imports of combine harvesters: to 1329 units (-13.8%) in quantitative terms and to USD 100.8 million (-30%). USD (-30.3%) in value terms.
The number of imported cultivators decreased by 46% to 13,251 units, and their customs value decreased by 29.2% to USD 14.7 mln. USD.
