The export of Ukrainian agricultural products helped curb inflation in the European Union.

This was said by the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky in the broadcast of the TV marathon "Unified News".

Referring to one of the reports of the European Commission, he noted that "in general, the supply of agricultural products from Ukraine, on the contrary, helped curb inflation in the European Union."

"That is, it (inflation - ed.) was significant, but without these supplies it would have been even greater. This is all included in the report," the deputy minister said.

Vysotsky noted that Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine resulted in higher prices for agricultural products on the world market, and this had different effects for different countries. In particular, for export-oriented countries the economic effect of rising prices was positive.

According to the deputy minister, discussions on the export of Ukrainian agricultural products to the EU are ongoing, and the impact of increased supplies are discussed separately for each state.

"We hope that it will be possible to fix on the figures that we first of all benefit from cooperation, including in the field of agro-industrial complex",Vysotsky summed up .
