European Commission Takes First Step to Extend Duty-Free Regime for Ukraine

The European Commission has approved an official proposal to extend autonomous trade measures for Ukraine for another year. This was announced by the first Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko in Facebook.

"This is the first official step to extend the duty-free regime. In the future this issue will be considered by the EU Council, and yesterday we discussed it with the permanent representatives of the EU member states," she shared.

Yulia Sviridenko added that during the meeting with representatives of the Directorate General for Trade of the EC other steps to strengthen trade relations between Ukraine and the EU were discussed, which is especially important in the context of integration into the European Union.
