The Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders (AUPB) has been given the opportunity to place the course "Fundamentals of Pig Health" on the AgriAcademy platform, a digital educational space for the exchange of knowledge and skills in agribusiness created by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The purpose of the platform is to improve the access of the Ukrainian agribusiness community to professional skills, successful business cases and innovative solutions that meet modern market challenges. Similarly, veterinarians already working on farms, as well as anyone who wants to join the profession, can improve and deepen their knowledge of pig health.

They can take the "Fundamentals of Pig Health" course taught by Justin Brown, PhD, a senior researcher and practicing veterinarian at Iowa State University and the US Pork Education Centre, at AgriAcademy and receive a certificate after successfully completing the tests.

The course covers the issues of maintaining and controlling animal health throughout the entire growing cycle in terms of technological and age groups of pigs and types of diseases, and also includes blocks of information on quarantine and the development of a herd health monitoring programme, vaccination.

The course was prepared within the framework of the project "Animal Health in Ukraine", implemented by the Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders with the support of the US Department of Agriculture (USDA), and was presented at the AUPB Veterinary School.

The Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders is a non-profit, voluntary organization founded by domestic pork producers. The main goals of the association are to represent and protect the rights and interests of the association's farms, promote the development and implementation of new technologies for efficient pork production, expand sales markets, and protect the domestic market.
