Agricultural Producers Can Apply Through SAR for Support Programs from FAO

The State Agrarian Register (SAR) is now accepting applications for assistance from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) under two programs:

1. Grant support program funded by the European Union, aimed at providing investment grant assistance to micro and small agricultural producers, cooperatives and associations of geographical indications (GIs) producers. The program is open to agricultural producers from Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Zakarpattia and part of Chernivtsi regions. The amount of grant support ranges from USD 1,000 to USD 25,000.

As of March 7, about 400 small agricultural producers have completed the first steps of registration to participate in the FAO grant program, but in order to participate in the competition, they need to complete the necessary documents.

2. A program to provide seeds of spring crops (wheat, barley, peas) to support small farmers in the frontline regions, namely Sumy, Chernihiv, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovs'k, Zaporizhzhia, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Odesa. Legal entities and individual entrepreneurs with registered agricultural land of 10 to 500 hectares are eligible to participate in the program. The amount of assistance provided is 2 tons of spring crop seeds per farm of choice, depending on the region.

As of March 7, 2,527 farmers have applied for seed assistance from FAO.
