The Catalan authorities have confirmed the discovery of two more dead wild boars infected with African swine fever. Both cases were recorded within the already established high-risk zone, allowing the current restrictive measures to remain in place without expanding the affected area.

The Ministry of Agriculture has reported two new confirmed cases of wild boar deaths from African swine fever (ASF) in Catalonia. This brings the total number of positive findings in the region to 29.

According to official information, both infected specimens were found within the first six-kilometre radius of the primary outbreak, an area that veterinary services have identified as a territory with an increased epizootic risk. As the new cases did not go beyond this perimeter, no changes have been made to the list of affected municipalities.

Veterinary and environmental protection services continue to intensively monitor wildlife, search for and safely dispose of carcasses, and monitor compliance with biosecurity measures. At the same time, pig farms in the surveillance zone continue to be monitored: as of today, no confirmed cases of ASF among domestic pigs have been recorded.
