According to statistics from the Department of Livestock and Veterinary Medicine of the province and localities, from the beginning of the year to June 21, African swine fever (ASF) occurred in 1,782 households in 399 villages of 94 communes in 11 districts and cities. The total number of affected pigs forced to be destroyed totals nearly 5,800, weighing over 272,000 kg.
From the end of May 2024 until now, ASF has tended to spread rapidly. In some districts, ASF has occurred in all communes, causing many pig-raising households in the area to struggle.
Thus, ASF has broken out and spread in all 11 districts and cities in Lang Son province. Local authorities in many places have announced the epidemic and implemented synchronous measures to suppress it.
