Compared to two years ago, the number of sows and pigs in Europe decreased by 1 million and 12 million pigs. Elimination of copper sulfate and restrictions on antibiotics increase the decline. Reduced pig numbers and high prices will reduce European pork exports. This will lead to higher prices in the US, Canada and Brazil as export markets are filled.
