The agricultural, fishing, food and forestry exports from January to December 2014 have kept an upward trend and have reached a value of €40,830 million, 3% higher than in 2013. Meanwhile, the value of the imports was €31,087 million, 1% higher than in 2013. So, the year-on-year balance was €9,742 million, with an improvement by 9%.

With these figures, the agrifood and fishing sector (with 17% of the total value) becomes established as the second most important sector of the Spanish foreign trade, after semimanufactures and capital goods, and before the automobile sector and the chemical industry sector.
