Pork prices in Brazil continued to decline in February, reaching their lowest level since April 2024. At the same time, the drop in prices has made pork more competitive compared with beef and poultry.

According to the research center Cepea, the average pork price in the country, in real terms, has already reached its lowest level in nearly two years. The price decrease has strengthened pork’s competitiveness in the animal protein market.

For the second consecutive month, pork has become a more attractive option for consumers compared with beef and chicken. This trend has also been supported by developments in the beef market, where prices have been rising.

Meanwhile, chicken prices also declined slightly, but at a much slower pace than pork prices.

Analysts link the price drop primarily to an increase in supply relative to demand. Market participants had expected some price decline during the first months of 2026 due to weaker consumer purchasing power, although the scale of the decrease has drawn particular attention.

Experts note that this situation could temporarily stimulate domestic pork consumption due to its more affordable price compared with other types of meat.
