The training series aims to raise awareness of responsible antibiotic use in animal production and combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR), which remains one of the most significant challenges for both animal and human health.
For livestock producers, the training will focus on practical aspects of operating under the new veterinary legislation. Participants will discuss requirements for prescription-based antibiotic use, record-keeping and traceability, the role of licensed veterinarians, and response procedures in the event of animal disease outbreaks. Special attention will be given to practical case studies and real-life examples from farm operations.
Representatives of territorial communities will focus on risk communication and public awareness activities related to responsible antibiotic use. Participants will explore practical tools for engaging with animal owners, discuss common treatment mistakes in household farming, and identify effective approaches for promoting behavioural change at the local level.
A separate training session will be conducted for specialists of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection. The programme will cover official controls on veterinary medicinal products, antimicrobial resistance monitoring, implementation of the new veterinary legislation, and strengthening inspection capacities.
The organizers emphasize that bringing together business representatives, local communities, and government authorities creates a comprehensive approach to tackling AMR and supports the effective implementation of new veterinary requirements at all levels.
Participation is free of charge; however, the number of places is limited. Prior registration is required.
