The war has caused enormous damage to the Ukrainian economy. In particular, according to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the agricultural sector has lost up to $6 billion as a result of the military aggression of the Russian Federation. About 30% of agricultural land fell under occupation or in the zone of active hostilities, crops, equipment and granaries were destroyed.

The functioning of this industry is strategically important to maintain the economy of the state. Realizing this, agricultural companies continue to work for all the hardships of war. Active season of crops harvesting reflected on revival of labor market in this sphere. Thus, since May, despite the general crisis at the labor market, the number of vacancies in agriculture started to increase rapidly. While from February to April, the share of job offers for agricultural workers was 3.3-3.4% of the total in the labor market, in May it increased to 4.2%, and in June to 5%.
