The new farm is located in Yuexi County and, according to the companies, is the result of a strategic partnership designed to combine global expertise in pig genetics with an operational model adapted to the realities of the Chinese market. The facility is equipped with modern solutions in biosecurity, environmental management and animal welfare.
Key technological features include positive-pressure ventilation and filtration systems, precision management tools, standardised production practices, and integrated data management ensuring full traceability and control of genetic material.
According to Ji Chen, head of Hendrix Genetics’ operations in China, the launch of the farm marks an important milestone in the partnership with Huanshan Group.
“We are creating added value for Chinese producers by combining international genetic expertise with a production model tailored to China’s specific conditions. The farm has already received its first batch of 1,000 high-health sows, laying the foundation for sustainable local production and genetic progress,” he said.
For Hendrix Genetics, the project represents another step in a busy year: the company recently completed a merger with Danish Genetics under the new Hendrix Genetics Swine division, strengthening its position in the global pig genetics market.
Project partner Huanshan Group is a diversified agricultural enterprise operating in pig production and breeding, feed manufacturing, and egg-laying poultry farming. The company emphasises that the development of nucleus herds is part of its long-term strategy for sustainable livestock production and the supply of safe agricultural products in line with current industry trends.
