This was announced by the official representative of Genesus in Ukraine, Yevhen Shatokhin, The Ukrainian Farmer reports.
«We have two more partners who plan to produce F1 pigs — there will be three in total. By the end of the year, another partner will put into operation a nucleus farm, where three breeds will be localized — Landrace, Yorkshire and Duroc,» he said.
Shatokhin noted that the company plans to cover at least 10% of the Ukrainian market by the end of 2025.

«In Ukraine, we have three farms that receive 14.7−15 live piglets at the first farrowing, have very good nest egg retention, and reach a weight of 123 kg at 152 days of age,» he said.
Genesus genetics are unpretentious, and pigs do not require time-consuming and skilled care.
According to Shatokhin, the company adheres to the philosophy that a sow should give birth to a moderately large number of piglets and take care of them herself, which in practice means a minimum of sorting.
«With the lack of qualified personnel, the problem of sorting is only growing, as is the duration of various operating procedures on the farm,» he said.
