Twenty enterprises operating in the de-occupied territories or regions most affected by russia's military aggression have received free laboratory tests for one year.

The program is implemented by the Association of Ukranian Pig Breeders with the support of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) to improve pig health control in war conditions.

AUPB partner Biosafety-Center, a research center for biosafety and environmental control of agribusiness resources in Dnepr, will carry out the research.

"We will use both pathological material from dead pigs and saliva samples, nasal and rectal swabs from different age groups to monitor pig health and antibiotic resistance. More than 30 intestinal and more than 20 respiratory pathogens will be tested as part of the monitoring. Isolated bacteria will also be tested for sensitivity to 20 antibacterial drugs. This is a comprehensive program necessary to maintain the health of each farm herd, and not only in war conditions, but as an everyday practice," commented Director of Biosafety Center Dmitry Masyuk.

The next round of research will take place in four months.
