russia's strikes on Ukraine's energy system will inevitably provoke a rise in food prices in Ukraine due to power outages and the transition of agricultural producers to generators.
According to the First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Vysotsky, there has been no significant reduction in production over the past few months, but power outages can be critical for production, the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reports.
«We have calculated that the increase will fluctuate at the level of about 3−5%… We have several strategies: one of them is to provide production with generators. The Ministry also accepts applications, in particular, from livestock farms to include them in the list of critical infrastructure. It is very important for us to provide electricity for all production cycles,» the First Deputy Minister said.
