Representatives of local government bodies, village and settlement heads, professionals working in the social and education sectors, civil society organisations, and everyone who works directly with local residents and can help promote responsible animal care and treatment practices are invited to participate.
During the training, participants will examine the main causes of antimicrobial resistance, common mistakes in antibiotic use in households, and practical approaches to communicating this information to community residents.
Particular attention will be paid to risk communication. Participants will work with real-life cases, learn how to adapt complex information for different audiences, establish effective dialogue with animal owners, and build trust in the recommendations of veterinary professionals.
The practical component will include interactive exercises, teamwork, and role-playing activities designed to help participants practise communication tools and prepare for engagement with local residents.
The training sessions are being held under the “Meeting Targets and Maintaining Epidemic Control” (EpiC) project, funded by the U.S. Department of State. The initiative aims to strengthen public health and animal health capacities and promote the One Health approach in Ukraine.
