So, the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) with the financial support of Canada has launched a new project worth 40 million dollars (52 million Canadian dollars) to further solve the problem of lack of granaries in Ukraine.

The mentioned project is an integral part of the Grain Storage Support Strategy, an expansion of the FAO Rapid Response Plan in Ukraine and aims to support the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine to provide 4.07 million tons of granaries, or 25 percent of the nationwide storage deficit of 16 million tons in 2022. 2023.

This initiative will provide storage for an additional 2.4 million tons of grain between 2022 and 2023, along with appropriate technical support and equipment. This project is in addition to the $17 million in assistance recently provided by the Government of Japan to provide storage for 1 million tons of grain.
