Fourteen states and the Federal District are about to receive the Clasical Swine Fever (CSF)-free area status, according to the information provided by the Ministry of Agriculture of Brazil.

The Scientific Committee of the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) accepted the request made by the Ministry of Agriculture to extend the disease-free area status to the Federal District and the states of Acre, Bahía, Espírito Santo, Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais, Paraná, Río de Janeiro, Rondônia, Sao Paulo, Sergipe and Tocantins.

Currently, only two states have the CSF-free area status: Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina.
