French industry organisation Inaporc has launched a major social media campaign aimed at attracting young people to careers in pig production and the meat industry. A series of videos featuring young professionals is primarily targeted at people aged 14–20, with organisers aiming to reach around 6 million people and generate at least 30 million views.

As part of the campaign, well-known French influencer @FitClaire meets seven young people already working in different parts of the pig sector, from pig production to meat processing.

The videos feature pig farmers, food production technicians and maintenance specialists working at meat-processing facilities.

The seven videos will be promoted on Snapchat and TikTok to reach young people aged 14 to 20. At the same time, the content will also be published on Facebook and Instagram, where the target audience will be the parents of potential future industry employees.

According to Inaporc, the young professionals are expected to provide an inside look at their jobs, describe their daily work and highlight career development opportunities within the sector.

One of the campaign participants, pig farmer Krystell, notes that the profession is constantly changing and modernising.

“You’re always trying to improve the quality of life of the animals. I want them to grow in the best possible conditions. It is also a profession that is evolving very quickly: you are constantly trying to modernise production and work better,” she said.

The campaign will run until 28 January 2027.

Spain Is Also Looking to Attract Young Professionals to the Sector

A similar initiative is also being implemented in Spain. Interporc recently held a conference for students studying subjects related to pig production and livestock farming.

The event at the University of Zaragoza brought together more than 200 participants and gave students an opportunity to speak directly with industry experts and company representatives.

According to Interporc Director Alberto Herranz, attracting a new generation is one of the biggest challenges facing the pig and meat industries.

“We want to build bridges between young people and professionals and companies. It is important for young people to see first-hand how the sector works, gain opportunities to learn and discover the career prospects available to them,” he said.
