The company has long been in pig industry. In 1968 it concentrated on pig production completely, and achieved the total herd size at the level of 12,000 heads. The maximum number of pigs was in 1974—there were 18,000 pigs. The company survived at the times of total recession in 1990’s, but had to decrease the herd size: 10, 4 and at last the minimum herd size—3 thousand heads.
The situation started to improve under the wise management of a new, young and ambitious owners they are two brothers Serhiy Zinchenko and Oleksiy Zinchenko. All the buildings of the farm were built in Soviet times, so a thorough reconstruction was done and new object were built. In the nearest plans of the company there are building of a new sow-house for 200 heads and a slaughter house to be able to sell frozen carcasses.
Bohoduhivske, JV has the status of a breeding farm in breeding Large White pigs. Not so long ago 30 new purebred boars and 60 gilts from Denmark were brought to the farm. At the moment there are 5,000 pigs, though the company has enough buildings for enlarging the herd up to 24,000 heads.
The production capacity is planned to be 12 000 tons of live weight pigs per year by 2012.
