Spanish group Osborne, owner of ham brands Cinco Jotas and Sánchez Romero Carvajal, expects sales to fall by €2–3 million due to the impact of African swine fever (ASF). The main factor has been restrictions on access for Spanish Iberian pork products to the Mexican and Japanese markets.

The company warned that the closure of these two important export destinations following the detection of ASF in Spain will have a direct impact on the group’s financial results.

According to Osborne, lost sales could amount to between €2 million and €3 million.

The restrictions affect Spanish Iberian pork products, including ham, which is one of the company’s key business segments.
