World Bank gives Ukraine first money to invest since full-scale war began

The money will be channeled through a $250 million trust fund managed by Horizon Capital, a U.S.-Ukrainian investment company.

It will invest in high-growth technologies as well as export-oriented companies operating primarily in Ukraine and Moldova.

It is expected that together with the IFC — International Finance Corporation other potential investors, including such banks and funds, will join investments in Ukraine in the nearest future:

  • European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD)
  • German Investment and Development Corporation (DEG)
  • The Swiss Investment Fund for Emerging Markets (SIFEM)
  • Netherlands Financial Company for Developing Countries (FMO)
  • Western NIS Enterprise Fund
  • Rockefeller Foundation and others.
