With the beginning of spring relative peace on the breeding pig livestock and semen production market starts to change. It is reported by analysts of Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders.
Higher farm-gate prices on live pigs have became the factor that stimulated price icrease on breeding pig livestock market. Average prices on breeding boars have risen. Some providers of Big White and Landrace breeds raise their prices by 10% or 5 UAH/kg (plus 2 thousand UAH per head or 16%). Maximal prices for Pietrain and Maxters have also grown — the most expensive offer is 14 thousand UAH per head since March.
As for semen production — its prices continue to change in constant ranges — 140-350 UAH/flatpack with catheter, as analysts of Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders report. However, some producers have risen their prices for Landrace (+10%) and Durock (+50) flatpacks.
Replacement guilts' prices are stable, their average price grown at early spring by 5 UAH/kg from some producers.
Slaughter pigs price have changed the most. Upper limit of quotation at 5-7 kg group, raise to 90 UAH/kg. The average price mark have grown in middle size group from 10 to 16 kg, as some sow farms offer such animals cheaper by 50% per head, as it was a month before. However, prices for slaughter pigs of 20-30 kg weight were changed. Compared to quotations in February, they grown by 2-6 UAH/ kg. So, their price is 55-65 UAH/kg, starting from March.
Association of Ukrainian Pig Breeders — is a non-profit, voluntary organization. Established in July 14-th, 2011. At present, AUPB unites 35 farms, breeding stock of which amounts to 35% of the national volume. The main objective of the Association is to protect rights and interests of pig enterprises, achieve international standards of production due to implementation of modern technologies.
