In 2023, the Association of Ukranian Pig Breeders (AUPB) with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) planned modular training for veterinarians of swine farms as part of the grant cooperation.

In war conditions the issue of personnel is quite acute, so the AUPB with the support of USDA organizes a training program for veterinary specialists already working on the farms and for those who are joining the profession. The «veterinary school» program consists of ten modules, which will be taught by American and domestic experts. All training videos from foreign experts will be translated and dubbed into Ukrainian for the easy perception of the information. Presentation of the materials will be held in the format of online lessons and will be accompanied by discussion and testing. Participants will receive diplomas after course completion. At the moment the selection of specialists in the USA among practicing teachers of the leading universities is going on.

«Year after year, AUPB hosts a variety of training events, including one for swine veterinarians. The year 2023 will be no exception. Farms have already adapted to working under martial law, so it is possible to return to a more familiar rhythm of work. All the more so, the training of workers is necessary in the conditions of internal displacement, migration and mobilization. „Veterinary School“ will help improve the skills of veterinarians already working on the farms, as well as those who are just joining this difficult but interesting field»,  commented in the AUPB.

Association of Ukranian Pig Breeders is a nonprofit, voluntary organization founded by domestic pork producers. The main objectives of the association are representation and protection of rights and interests of the association farms, assistance in development and introduction of new technologies for efficient production of pork, expansion of sales markets, protection of domestic sales market.
