The announcement followed a meeting of the State Emergency Anti-Epizootic Commission under the Krolevets City Council, convened to address the ASF outbreak in the Spaske Starostyn District. As a result of the meeting, the Commission introduced quarantine restrictions and adopted a set of veterinary-sanitary and anti-epizootic measures aimed at preventing further spread of the virus.
During the quarantine period, state veterinary specialists, together with officers of the National Police, will oversee the implementation of all quarantine measures in accordance with national legislation.
Residents of the community are urged to comply with the temporary restrictions, strictly observe biosecurity requirements, and cooperate with veterinary authorities to help contain the outbreak.
Pig owners are also reminded that any signs of illness or sudden deaths among pigs should be treated as a suspected case of African swine fever and reported immediately to the local State Veterinary Medicine Service.
African swine fever poses no risk to human health but is a highly contagious viral disease affecting domestic pigs and wild boar. As there is currently no effective vaccine or treatment, rapid detection of outbreaks, strict biosecurity, and timely implementation of quarantine measures remain the primary tools for controlling the disease.
