The first container carrying products from Kostelecké uzeniny, a.s. was delivered to the Tan Vu Terminal at the Port of Hai Phong. The export operation was carried out by Animalco a.s., a Czech company specialising in the trade of meat and agricultural products, in cooperation with its Vietnamese partner, Ha Long Food Import Export Co. Ltd.
The entry of Czech pork into the Vietnamese market was preceded by years of technical negotiations, regulatory procedures and coordination of veterinary requirements between the authorities of the two countries.
A key role in the process was played by the State Veterinary Administration of the Czech Republic, the Czech Meat Processors Association and the Vietnamese authorities responsible for animal health and livestock production. The approval procedure for veterinary requirements governing imports of Czech pork was completed in 2025.
As a result, approved and registered Czech companies are now able to export their products to Vietnam, which applies strict requirements concerning food safety, traceability and the quality of imported meat.
The Czech side emphasised that supplying pork with verified origin and enhanced quality control provides a foundation for the further development of cooperation between the two countries in agriculture and the food industry.
The arrival of the first container marked an important milestone in trade and veterinary relations between the Czech Republic and Vietnam. The opening of the market is expected to increase bilateral trade and create new opportunities for companies in the agricultural and food sectors.
